The J&L Narrow Gauge Railroad is an interplant 24" gauge railroad that serves the needs of the Tod McDonald Rolling Mill moving parts, machinery and materials to and from the facility.  The roster of equipment includes a 5 ton Brookville gasoline locomotive and a fleet of four 40 ton 0-4-0T Porter steam locomotives of which one is in service, one is undergoing restoration and two are in storage. 

The J&L Narrow Gauge also offers regularly scheduled one day courses in the care, firing and operation of a steam locomotives called the "Steam Locomotive Experience".  The current schedule is posed under the EVENTS tab.

    The 58 when we bought it in 2014. 


    The saddletank was found on a farm in Bulger, PA


    The boiler was sent out for repairs and new tubes. 


    The frame at Reichard Industries in Niles having the front plate and rear frame extension welded on. 


    Drivers were refurbished by City Machine Technologies in Youngstown. 


    58's frame ready for reassembly. 


    First fireup in November 2018.
